The Tennessee Justice Bus has been actively engaging communities across Tennessee in 2024, providing essential legal services and advice to those in need. From participating in resource fairs to coordinating expungement clinics, the TN Justice Bus has been making a significant impact on individuals seeking legal assistance across Tennessee.
Events & Partnerships
One of the recent highlights for the TN Justice Bus was its participation in the Fair Chance Month Resource Fair with Persevere and Project Return located in Davidson county, where individuals had the opportunity to receive legal resources, speak with our volunteer attorney as well as receive other helpful resources from a variety of participating organizations. The enthusiasm and response from the attendees further emphasized the importance of such initiatives in bridging the gap of legal services.
Partnerships have been a cornerstone of the Justice Bus’s success, with collaborations with organizations like the Governor’s Faith Based & Community Initiatives, The Knoxville Area Urban League, American Job Center, and others. These partnerships have not only expanded the reach of the TN Justice Bus but have also led to impactful events such as the expungement clinic in Shelby County, which assisted over 55 individuals and drew over 100 attendees. The TN Justice Bus wants to recognize the legal aid organizations: Legal Aid of Middle Tennessee, West TN Legal Services and Legal Aid of East TN for their dedication to the community and their tremendous volunteer efforts with the TN Justice Bus.
Recent Developments
In an ongoing effort to expand its reach and impact, the organization has wholeheartedly embraced digital transformation by adopting a digital intake process. This move has not only streamlined operations but has also demonstrated a firm commitment to sustainability by cutting down on paper usage. The digital intake process also aids in expediting client’s access to volunteer attorneys. It streamlines operational logistics for volunteer attorneys, allowing them to focus directly on providing legal advice and assistance to clients. Additionally, it enables seamless data collection, allowing us to analyze and improve future events and partnerships.
Catching media traction, amidst its impactful endeavors, the TN Justice Bus recently attracted the attention of local news in Knoxville, Tennessee. During one of its community engagements, the TN Justice Bus found itself in the spotlight, leading to an interview with a local news outlet.
